DHQ Amzone from France is currently promoting her dance move called "OVASEAZ." She has taken it to another level with a dancehall riddim that she co-produced with Hemp Higher (Riga). The riddim also called "Overseaz" features artistes from around the world (Jamaica, France, Canada, Germany, England and Australia) such as:
Taheera was nominated Favorite Female dancer for the Youth View Awards 2010 alongside Mystic and Mad Michelle. Maria Hitchins one of Jamaica's top Dancer/Choreographer is currently pursuing a Master of Philosophy Thesis in Cultural Studies at U.W.I., researching socio-cultural influences of Jamaican street dancers on their communities. She did a very enlightening presentation at UWI's Research Day on Thurs January 27, 2011 and DanceJa was there to give her support. Jamaica's top dance group Dance Xpressionz celebrated their 10 Year Anniversary as a dance theatre group that entertains and teaches different genres of dance in Jamaica. The celebration took place at their 4th staging of "Dancers Boom" Graduation/Award Show (Sponsored by Boom, Wysinco and Mothers) held at the Ranny Williams Centre in Kingston on 21 May 2011. Well, a workshop was held recently on October 21-22 at the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts in Kingston, Jamaica to inform dancers, dance companies and choreographers about how to copyright their work. Top dance lecturers and choreographers such as L'acadco's L'Antoinette Stines and Neila Ebanks were in attendance.
In 2008, after attaining the title of Ms. Ardenne , one of the competition’s judges was thoroughly impressed by Tam’s personality and talent ,this judge was Karen Clarke , the producer of the newest ‘ Young , hot and hype’ award show in Jamaica.
