Bogle & John Hype SET THE TREND. DING DONG and Chi Ching went all out with taking it to the next level Overmars, Sample Six, Black Blingas, Chekkazz, Stacia Fya, Mad Michelle, Mumzel & Mystic are among the multi-talenteed dancers who recorded songs that are playing at parties and on the radio.

Dancehall Fashion is all about being creative, outstanding and flamboyant. Lately the dancers especially are not afraid to experiment with different colour combinations, styles and accessories to compliment their outfit. Ling socks, scarves, shades, nap sack, goggles, chains, gloves you name it, they wear it. Straight Pants or some may call it pencil foot pants are now worn by males with confidence.

The dancers however have been receiving a bad rap because of this, they are being branded as homosexuals because of their dress code and style. Non-the-less we encourage freedom of expression and to each his own.

Bita is a well known Jamaican Dancehall dancer, who created the dance Thuggy Thuggy.

She has been seen sporting some interesting shades and we will assume that it is for the purpose of being "fashionably loud and proud". We must commend Bita on her attire as she is always on point in unique designs, hot accessories, sharp shoes and fancy hairstyles or hats.

People wear sunglasses at night for several reasons.

  1. to hide their eyes

  2. to conceal their emotions

  3. to intimidate

  4. to appear low-key or nonchalant

  5. to disguise themselves and

  6. to minimise the chance of being identified.

Dancers and wider dance fraternity I have a question, has Dancehall's dance genre gone genderless? There once was a clear distinction between dance moves appropriated for females versus those for males to perform, with females customarily having the option of also executing male street dance moves. However in recent times if we should examine closely the movement structures of the latest dance steps, style of dress including hair, it appears the dancers are practising 'genderlessness'.

'Genderlessness' sees males now performing and even creating dance moves using str...
