Adrian Moodie aka Rudey Legacy was “born from a Jamaican Boom Box” on 24 February 1992 in Manchester Jamaica.
With music being at the centre of his life at such an early age, it is no surprise that Rudey has evolved into one of the island’s most prominent dancehall dancers.
An original member of the St. Thomas based dance group, ‘Ghetto Legacy’ since 2006, he went on to create his own dance group, Portmore Legacy in 2014.
Rudey enjoyed great success over the eight years as a member of his original group, earning several awards for excellence in creating unique dance steps and in 2012, his group won the prestigious DanceJA award for the Best Dance Move for the hugely popular ‘Bucky Bounce’ step.
Rudey has graced the stages of most of the popular Dance competitions nationally, including the World Reggae Dance Championship, Dancing Dynamites and ‘On the Verge’
Over the span of his illustrious career, he has been instrumental in the creation of a myriad of popular dance steps including the Bow Leg, Iron Bird, Bucky Bounce, Happy Feet, Knock off, Right Back, Calm and Easy, Pop Off, Jamaican Thief, Stay Steady just to name a few.
He is a sought-after dancer among a number of top Jamaican performing artistes and has appeared in Music Videos for the likes of RDX, Cecile, Voicemail, Tanto Blacks, Danielle DI, Tiana, Capleton and Junior Reid.
Rudey Legacy currently imparts his vast knowledge of dance as an instructor at the Dance Jamaica Cultural Centre. His students who travel from as far as Asia, South America, Europe, Australia, USA and Canada are drawn to his dynamic teaching approach and the fluency in his body movements.
His body rhythms are often described as three dimensional, with a continuous flow which appears effortless. Other words used to describe his dance skills are silky, sinuous and circular. His torso has an oppositional pull with his shoulders and hips pull diagonally, instead of just horizontal or vertical.
Rudey ventured on his first Europe Tour in February 2016 and is available for bookings worldwide.
Rudey’s aim is to continue expressing his passion through hard work and dedication in order to flourish and gain international success in the entertainment industry.
