DHK SHORTMAN "STEF" (Formerly 'SHORTMAN EVERHYPE')

DANCER, ENTERTAINER, PROMOTER, TEACHER, CHOREOGRAPHER

DHK SHORTMAN (Stefian Pereira) is a solo dancer. He was born in London Uk on 26/10/1988. His father is from Nigeria and his mother has Jamaican background but was also born and raised in the UK. He was more raised around Jamaican origin but also has some awareness about his African roots!

Since the age of 5 he has been dancing and progressed to Street-Dance from the age of 10 until he found the love for dancehall dancing at the age of 13. Dancehall has always been a part of his family as he was raised around music such as Lovers Rock, Culture, Reggae, Dancehall, etc. His mother used to be a dancer in; Funk, HipHop, Locking, StreetDance, Jazz etc, His granddad was a musician, his grandma used to be a backing singer in a group, and his aunties and uncles are also in the music business doing dancehall dancing (Talawah Dancers), DJing (DJ Juggla, Germany) etc, so music has been in his blood from birth!!

He has been known more from dancing as a Street-dancer from a young age, then progressing to dancehall dancing in clubs, shows and event all around Europe!

He is the creator of his dances called: SHIZZLE/ CHOPPER, WAVE-LENGTHS, SHIMMY, STAR-STRETCH ETC.

HE is an ambitious, open-minded, versatile, unique, creative dancer and has had alot of years experience dancin and performing in front of 1000's of people.

HE has experienced different styles/ types of dancing such as: African, Jazz, Contempory, Hip-Hop, Street Dance etc.

He has performed not just in the UK, but in places such as; Germany, Italy, Switzerland, France etc. and won several awards.

Formerly an Everhype Dancers member from 2005-2009, he has become popular over the years locally and throughout Europe and overseas.

He has danced alongside dancers such as: CRAZYHYPE & SRI LANKA (M.O.B), MAD MICHELLE, CHICKEN & BEER, SAMPLE 6, SHELLY BELLY, DING DONG, UNIT RAVERS, DYEMA & MANY OTHER EUROPEAN DANCERS SUCH AS; CAMRON ONE-SHOT, DHQ AMZONE, KIM LA QUEEN, MAD MIKE, ISI GAL, DHQ CHRIS, STAINLESS CREW, JUMBI, DHQ MAGGI, DHQ AFRO, DHQ MAD ENGLISH, COOKIE-JAH, SUNA SUNA, ATIPA SQUAD, AAXIA, PRIMA CALI, FAYE POL etc.

Founder of the 'Starlight Dancers UK' with ex-members: Scatty Natty/ Cherry/ T-Bone- Now founder of 'Starlight Inc' a group containing: Dancers, DJ's, Models, Designers etc.

If i wasn't dancing i'll most probably be in some form of entertainment because its in me to perform in some kind of way lol or maybe even a chef because I LOVE to cook!

I wasn't born or raised in Jamaica I was born and raised in London, UK

I like to sleep quite alot lol

I have too many favourite songs to dance to but 2 name a few i like tunes from Merital family (dancing tunes), Tripple Bounce Riddim (fast), Darker Shadow riddim, Dark agen riddim etc

7. WHICH ARTISTE DO YOU RESPECT/ADMIRE THE MOST AND WHY?

I respect Assassin (Agent Sasco) because he's REAL lyrically and very under-rated when he should be at the TOP!

8. WHO IS YOUR ROLE MODEL OR INFLUENCE?

Besides 'Bogle' (Compulsory), Ovamarz is a big inspiration (dancing-wise) for me because I admire his style and way of dancing, he flows with all his moves and freestyles very well

9. WHAT IS YOUR TAKE ON RELIGION?

My take on religion vary's quite abit because i'd class myself as a christian, but i'm not a very religious person even though I do believe there is a God.

10. WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST FEAR OR GREATEST CHALLENGE IN LIFE?

My greatest challenge in life is to reach to the peak of success. I want to do well not for myself but for my family and provide everything I possibly can for my daughter.

11. WHATS YOUR OPINION ON DANCEHALL FASHION/DRESS?

My opinion on dancehall fashion is, everyone SHOULD have their own unique style and shouldn't just follow the SWAG trend because SWAG has been going on from before i was born!

12. WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT OTHER NATIONS INVOLVEMENT IN OUR DANCEHALL CULTURE?

Other nations involvement within dancehall has increased dramatically and has a positive look, but I still believe personally that its still combining too much with Street-dance and Hip-Hop and hasn't stuck to its own genre as the years have gone past.

13. WHAT IRRITATES OR ANNOYS YOU THE MOST?

Many thing irritate me such as followers, big-headed and large ego-ed, ignorant, racist people.
