photography-bruck-upBorn and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, BruckUp was fascinated with dancehall reggae’s culture, music and rhythmic movement at a very young age. Inspired by Michael Jackson and MC Hammer, BruckUp initially exploded onto the scene as a dancer in 1992 at Jamaica’s annual live concert event, STING. The “BruckUp dance” captivated audiences at live stage performances all over Jamaica, dancers all over the world picked up his style of dance, and it spread like wild fire across the world. The dance later evolved into what’s now called the “Flex Dance”.

After dance appearances in California in 1992, and in NYC with Doug E Fresh in 1995, BruckUp’s career made a pivot towards America when he met and caught the attention of visionary music video director, Hype Williams. BruckUp’s first major choreography appearance was on Busta Rhymes’ critically acclaimed music video, “Put Your Hands Where Your Eyes Can See” in 1997, after which he went on tour with Wyclef Jean on the Smoking Grooves Tour in 1998. Additionally, in 1998, BruckUp’s charismatic presence on the scene inspired Andrew Hilfiger to introduce BruckUp to his brother, which lead to sponsorship, as well as, several runway and TV modeling opportunities for the iconic international brand, Tommy Hilfiger. In 2001, BruckUp toured with the legendary Slick Rick, Doug E. Fresh, and the Get Fresh Crew’s “Kool Tour”. BruckUp’s look, unique ability and style earned him features on MTV, Fox 5’s Good Day New York, an appearance on BET’s 106th & Park, countless performances and choreography castings in music videos with hit makers like Jay-Z, French Montana, Nikki Minaj, Machel Montana, Snow, Patra and Bounty Killer, just to name a few.bruck-up-shaggy-sunglasses

Although dancing on major shows & choreographing video’s for musical hits lead to several key industry relationships and opened many doors for BruckUp, the desire to create his own hit album is his dream. Surrounded by music entertainment royalty, people like the late great Notorious B.I.G. encouraged him to pursue that passion, which soon evolved into collaborations with major international artists. In 2009, BruckUp released the flirty and fun single, “Sunglasses (Keep Your Shades On)” on Orchid Records, which featured the king of reggae crossover himself, Shaggy. The song was later licensed to Malibu Rum for use in a major ad campaign. BruckUp was also featured on Crystal Waters’ house music hit “Say Yeah”, which was released on SONY MUSIC Entertainment France in 2011. He’s also worked with amazing talents like Jerry Wunda, Lil’ Kim, Scott Storch, Rockwilder, Teddy Riley, Jay Marty, TrainLine, Raekwon, Louie Rankin, Mavado, Melanie Fiona, Rupee, Arrow, and Lumidee.
